Operation Backpack provides weekly food bags to get students through the weekend when school meals are not available. Participating children are discreetly given these backpacks to take home, enabling them to come back to school on Monday with the good nutrition and focus they need to achieve academic success. Operation Food Search is in need of volunteers to pack these bags on a weekly basis.
Volunteers will pack the bags according to the weekly menu, double knot each bag, pack 5 bags per box, and palletize the boxes so they're ready for delivery to the schools. In addition to packing the bags, some volunteers will be need to continually build boxes and restock the packing tables.
Dress comfortably and wear close-toe shoes.
This is NOT a private group opportunity. Everyone interested in volunteering with us on the selected date(s) must sign up for the opportunity individually. If you're in scheduling a private group, please reach out to our Volunteer and Food Drive Manager, Matt Kasate, at matt.kasate@operationfoodsearch.org.
