In partnership with the Kurt Warner First Things First Foundation, Operation Food Search is thrilled to host a one-day drive-thru coat collection at four area Chick-Fil-A restaurants. Volunteers are needed to facilitate collection at the drop-off locations. In keeping with social distance protocols, this event has been designed to be low-contact for both donor and volunteers. Self-service receptacles will be set up in the drive thru lane (restaurants are closed for business on this day) and donors will be asked to place their coats in the appropriate receptacle according to size and gender.
Volunteer duties include:
- Greet donors and assist with traffic flow into the donation lanes.
- Maintain traffic flow to ensure only one donor at a time is near the collection boxes.
- Keep a tally of the number of coats per collection box.
- Monitor receptacles and replace when full.
- Load full boxes/bags and load onto truck.
- Assist with tear down at the end of the event.
The event runs from 11:00 – 2:00 pm on Sunday October 23. Volunteer sign-ups are split into two shifts: 10:30 am– 12:30 pm and 12:30 – 2:30 pm. You may register for one or both shifts.
