Operation Food Search is looking for 10-15 people to help glean at Three Rivers Community Farm.

What is gleaning? Gleaning is harvesting crops from the farm that would otherwise go unused and donating them to individuals and families within Operation Food Search's network of food pantries.

Gleaning at Three Rivers Community Farm

Time: 8 am – 11 am              Address: 22935 Chautauqua Rd. Ilsah, IL 62028

• Transportation to the farm is the responsibility of the volunteer.  
• Volunteers are not required to wear a mask while outside but will need wear a mask while inside the barn or any other building
• Volunteers may bring personal gardening gloves and mask. If you do not have your own PPE gloves and masks, OFS will provide them.
• Social distancing will be maintained at all times. 
• Operation Food Search will provide water

-All Volunteers must be able to:

-work in all weather conditions

-have the ability to work on your feet, crouch, kneel, and walk on uneven terrain.

-be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Unfortunately, this gleaning event is not wheelchair accessible.

OFS will provide:

• Water 
• Gloves
• Masks
• Packing trays
• First Aid kit
• Cleaner
• Paper Towels
• A portable wash station

 Dress Code:

• Wear layered, comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
• Be mindful of the weather forecast and dress accordingly: rain jackets, water resistant shoes like work boots or hiking shoes are recommended
• Closed-toe shoes are required. Please no sandals or flip flops
