Operation Backpack provides weekly food bags to get students through the weekend when school meals are not available. Participating children are discreetly given these backpacks to take home, enabling them to come back to school on Monday with the good nutrition and focus they need to achieve academic success. Operation Food Search is in need of volunteers to pack these bags for next week's distribution.
Volunteers will pack the bags according to the menu, double knot each bag, pack 5 bags per box, and palletize the boxes so they're ready for delivery to the schools. In addition to packing the bags, some volunteers will be need to continually build boxes, restock the packing tables, and break down empty food boxes.
The duration of this opportunity may not take the entire two hours that are scheduled. We will pack until all of the orders are fulfilled or until 4:00PM.
