Description

Join us at Three Rivers Community Farm in Elsah, IL. We will be harvesting kale, cabbage, collards and peas to share with families in need through Operation Food Search's network of partner agencies. Three Rivers Farm has been growing vegetables and planting seedlings using organic growing methods for the Riverbend and St. Louis communities since 2007. They grow high quality, very clean, and a diverse array of produce . Their farm has become a community centered around good food, friendship and support, and a connection with the land that feeds us.

Gleaning is harvesting crops from farms and gardens that would otherwise go unused and donating them to individuals and families within Operation Food Search's network of food pantries. It is a great opportunity for volunteers to learn about our local food system and expand their knowledge around farming and gardening practices.
