Our Operation Backpack program provides bags of shelf-stable meals for kids in the St. Louis area to take home on Fridays so they have food to eat over the weekend when they do not have access to school meals. This volunteer project is going to be packing boxes with even more food for kids to take home over the upcoming holiday break. Come and spread holiday cheer while supporting the children in our community!
Volunteers will pack boxes with 15-20 shelf stable items according to the set menu, fold the boxes closed, and stack them on pallets so they are ready to be delivered to schools. In addition to packing the boxes, some volunteers will be needed to restock tables with our food items, break down empty cardboard boxes, and build the boxes that we are packing. This will be physical work as the boxes will end up weighing 15-20 pounds, so do your stretching and come ready to lift!
