Description

The Operation Food Search Garden is in its second season. The space consists of 384 sq ft of raised garden beds for vegetable production, a small orchard of fruit trees, and surrounding ecological garden beds to support our local pollinators. We hope this space teaches and inspires partner agencies, volunteers and staff to opt outside and grow some of their own food!

Volunteer Tasks Include:

  • Weeding vegetable beds as well as the surrounding native landscaping garden beds

  • Planting

  • Harvesting matured produce

  • Helping wash/pack harvested produce for distribution

  • Adding compost to enrich the soil

  • Lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs (assistance will be provided)

This work will help create a thriving garden for the community and support sustainable food initiatives!

Location: 1644 Lotsie Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132

Important Information: Wear close-toed shoes, as safety is our priority (no sandals allowed). Dress for working outdoors; wear comfortable clothes that may get dirty. A hat and sunscreen is recommended!
